Live Watercolor Guest Portraits
How do live guest portraits work?
Our team arrives before your event begins to set up our painting station. Throughout your celebration, guests have their photo taken by our assistant while our artists paint continuously. This allows guests to enjoy the event instead of waiting in line. They receive a text message when their painting is ready.
Do guests have to sit for their portrait?
No. Our assistant takes a quick reference photo so guests can immediately return to enjoying your celebration.
How many portraits can you complete?
Every event is different depending on guest participation, portrait complexity, and the number of artists. During your consultation, we’ll recommend a package that best fits your guest count and timeline.
What happens if every portrait isn't finished?
Any portraits not completed during your event (within the estimated number) are finished in the studio and mailed to you so every included guest receives their keepsake. These are good to mail out with your thank you cards.
Can couples, families, children, or pets be included?
Absolutely. We love painting couples, families, children, and furry family members whenever possible. Up to 3 people per individual painting.
What kind of paper do you use?
Every portrait is painted on premium 4’x6’ archival watercolor paper and placed in a protective sleeve before guests take it home.
Can my stationery be customized?
Yes! We offer personalized stationery featuring your names, wedding date, or monogram for an additional design fee.
Live Canvas Art
What is a live canvas painting?
A live canvas painting is created throughout your event as your celebration unfolds. The painting is then completed in the studio, resulting in a finished heirloom piece that captures both the atmosphere and emotion of your day.
When do you begin painting?
We typically arrive about two hours before your event begins to establish the background and composition before guests arrive.
Is the painting finished that night?
The painting is substantially completed during your event and then refined in the studio to ensure every detail receives the attention it deserves.
Can we choose the moment that's painted?
Absolutely. We’ll discuss your vision during our planning meeting and decide together which moment best represents your celebration.
Can additional family members or pets be included?
Yes. Additional figures or pets can often be incorporated depending on the composition for an additional fee.
What size canvases do you offer?
Several canvas sizes are available depending on your package and the level of detail you’d like.
Custom Commissions
What types of commissions do you offer?
Almost anything! Pet portraits, venue watercolors, house portraits, wedding stationery, branding, logos, memorial artwork, nursery art, and completely custom ideas.
How does the commission process work?
Every commission begins with a consultation where we’ll discuss your vision, timeline, inspiration, and budget. Afterward, you’ll receive a custom proposal tailored to your project.
How much do commissions cost?
Because every project is unique, pricing varies depending on size, materials, complexity, and timeline. We’ll provide a personalized quote after our consultation.
How long do commissions take?
Turnaround time depends on the project and current availability. Estimated completion times will be provided after booking.
Can you ship artwork?
Yes! Shipping is available for clients outside our local service area.
Art Vending Experience
What is the Art Vending Experience?
Our vintage-inspired vending machine is filled with custom keepsakes such as stickers, temporary tattoos, mini art prints, and other artwork designed specifically for your event.
Can the artwork be customized?
Yes! We can create custom illustrations inspired by your wedding venue, pets, favorite places, hobbies, florals, signature cocktails, or anything meaningful to you.
What events is this available for?
The Art Vending Experience is perfect for weddings, engagement parties, corporate events, grand openings, birthday celebrations, and brand activations.
Do you deliver and pick up the machine?
Yes. Local delivery, setup, and pickup are included with every rental.
Can I combine this with another service?
Absolutely! Many couples pair the Art Vending Experience with live guest portraits or a live canvas painting for an even more memorable guest experience.

Where are you located?
Brushstroke Art Events is based in Leesburg, Virginia and serves Northern Virginia, Washington, DC, Maryland, and destinations beyond.
Do you travel?
Yes! We love traveling for weddings, events, and commissions. Travel fees may apply depending on location.
How far in advance should we book?
We recommend booking as early as possible, especially for weddings during peak season, as availability is limited.
How do we reserve our date?
A signed contract and 25% retainer are required to officially reserve your event date.
What happens after we inquire?
We’ll review your inquiry and reach out within 2 to 3 business days. From there, we’ll schedule a consultation to discuss your vision and recommend the best experience for your celebration.
Can you paint at events other than weddings?
Absolutely! While weddings are our specialty, we also create live art for anniversaries, engagement parties, galas, corporate events, grand openings, holiday parties, birthdays, fundraisers, and other meaningful celebrations.
